Chamber Dollars

We at Vermilion Advantage know how important keeping local retail sales dollars is to our local economy.  That is why we created our Think Vermilion County  First program four years ago.  This initiative includes Chamber Dollars, which is promoted heavily during the holiday season.

In 2006, the community's response was unbelievable - $95,000 spent in a three-month tracking period of October, November and December, 2006, and $124,000 for the 2006 calendar year.  We hope you will consider joining and becoming a participant in Chamber Dollars to make this an even more successful venture for the Vermilion County retail community in the future!

There is no participation fee to join - it is a benefit of Vermilion Advantage membership.  Just fill out the application and return it to Vermilion Advantage. Your business name is posted on all of our retail marketing materials, which include: 

• A participation list that goes out with every purchase of Chamber Dollars (view this year's list as a PDF)

• A participation cling that can be displayed in your front entry

• Holiday placemats featured in local restaurants

• Articles printed in The Commercial News and our Vermilion Advantage tabloid

• Television and radio ad during the holiday months

• Posters placed around the county
   

Chamber Dollars are Easy

Chamber Dollars work just like a check.  They are:

• Prepaid by the purchaser before being given to the recipient.
• Drawn off of a local bank account - cashiers accept them as check or cash.
• Free of risk, since the check is prepaid at purchase.  The dollars are guaranteed to be in the bank.
• Issued in increments of $25.00 or less.
• Purchased by local businesses and individuals to be spent exclusively at local Vermilion County businesses.
